Hello, can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Hey there, we are SEOHUT, a boutique marketing agency based in Cape Town, but offering services worldwide. We started after identifying an opportunity to help online businesses position themselves so that customers can find them. We love search and are passionate about using data, creativity and hard work to make campaigns work.

What are your focus areas and why?

We focus on ecommerce and specifically try help online businesses and brands sell their services or products to customers on the internet.

Our primary services include search engine optimization, pay per click advertising, display advertising, shopping advertising and web UX/design.

We, as a marketing firm, will plan out and implement a company’s marketing strategy. We do market research and optimize sales letters for our clients.

How would you describe “SEOHUT” in a few words?

A highly-motivated powerhouse of creatives and analysts using traditional marketing and creativity to fuel campaigns that make a change!

Where do you think “SEOHUT” is making an impact?

Small businesses and entrepreneurs are focused on making their idea work, and they require whatever help they can afford. SEOHUT wants to see these committed individuals succeed. It is our goal here to help them make an impact online.

What were some of the biggest challenges you encountered while building “SEOHUT”?

Capital – Raising capital for a startup or small business is without a question the most challenging aspect of growing a business. The stories are manifold of entrepreneurs and small business owners becoming both frustrated and discouraged by the amount of time it takes to secure capital, the rejections they endure to do so. We took a risk of putting what we had in this business, so we can see other business grow online.

Building the right team – We wanted SEOHUT to have people that love what they do, and so we handpicked and searched for others that are passion about digital marketing.

Tell us about how you utilize big data, analytics and traditional marketing.

The new benefits that big data analytics brings to the table, however, are speed and efficiency. Whereas a few years ago a business would have gathered information, run analytics and unearthed information that could be used for future decisions, today that business can identify insights for immediate decisions.

We use analytics to make informed decisions and help businesses become leaders in their industries.

What advice do you have for other entrepreneurs and start-ups?

Focus on what you are good at and let us focus on getting your website the exposure and online presence it deserves. Keep on working hard, as the time you put in will ultimately lead to the returns you will reap. Like the German blogger, Claudia Bartsch, follow your dream, even if it means quitting your job and travelling the world.
